 *_Youth Leader, Mohamed Bangura Escapes Untimely Death*

It wawasreported that on the 16th March 2021, Mohamed Bangura who happened to be a vibrant Youth Leader at the Jui Community was attacked by a renowned politician of the current SLPP led government of President Bio. The reasons, they say was due to the fact that he was not willing to join the ruling government  and that he has been exposing the human rights abuses, unlawful arrests and detention of the main opposition members, summary dismissal of Civil servants from their respective jobs, killing of innocent Sierra Leoneans, among others by this current dispensation.This Writer was duly informed that his house was burnt down and properties carted away. And all those ugly events unfolded on the day for his Natal Day. He was left with no better option than to flee to a foreign land inorder to save his Life, as he was desperately in search of by the powers that be.

In another encounter on the 16th March 2021,on the birthday of the Youth Activist- Mohamed Bangura. They decided to organize some basic birthday party for him in celebration of his outstanding political activism over the years within the constituency. The Mammy Queen of the Jui community together with the District Coordinator of Nacoverg (WAR)

 and the Youth Chairman. The Coordinator met him delivering speech and later got annoyed with him, accused him of making inciting statements to the youths to create pandemonium against the SLPP led government of President Bio.  It was discovered by reliable sources that Bangura had got confrontation with the District Coordinator since 2018 Parliamentary and Presidential elections when he contested for a Member of Parliament but lost the election. 

This Writer was also informed that Davies later called on the Inspector General of Police concerning Bangura's birthday celebration he refered to as orchestrated activity to cause mayhem in the Jui community. Thereafter, two trucks full of Police Officers arrived at the field where the meeting was taking place. Upon their arrival, the youths got panic and told the Political Activist, Mohamed to run for his Life but he insisted that he was not going anywhere and that he wanted to know the reason for the huge presence of the Police at that peaceful and exciting scene. He says they gathered in a public place enjoying themselves and that did not warrant Police presence. Eye witnesses revealed that Police personnel asked him for the script of the speech he was delivering but Bangura refuted that there was nothing like that. Right at that point they started beating him mercilessly of which the youths resisted that they will not allow them to treat their Leader as a common criminal, whom in actual fact has not committed any offence. Whilst the fighting was ongoing between the Youths and the Police, this Media house was informed that Mohamed sustained injury on the last toe of his right foot, two teeth were broken and suffered great pains. The Youths they say escaped with him before he would have been killed by those heartless and unprofessional Police Officers. Bangura was secretly taken to an unknown location for his safety.

This Writer was informed that the youths succeeded taking him out to a safe haven but the Police reacted by issuing a Warrant of Arrest for Mohamed Bangura. Unfortunately, his house burnt down to ashes on the same day. It was discovered that his right destination was not known up till the moment the incident was covered.

The new Pentax KP can shoot at ISO 819,200

Pentax’s newestCAMERA is a relatively tiny DSLR called the KP. On paper, the KP is a mixed bag of features you’d expect to find in a modern camera: it has 5-axis in-body image stabilization and weather sealing, but only shoots 1080p video. It has Wi-Fi, and a tilt-out touchscreen, but only 27 autofocus points and aTOP speed of 7 still images per second.

The KP’s most mad feature, though, is that the 24-megapixel APS-C sensor is capable of shooting at ISO 819,200. That’s twice the limit of the Sony A7S II, a camera that can practically see in the dark. The cost of such low-light luxury? $1,099 for just the KP body when it goes on sale February 25th in North America.

Now, the A7S II has a full frame sensor, so there’s basically no chance it’s at risk of being outperformed in terms of actual image quality by the Pentax KP. Images taken by anyCAMERA at 819,200 are also going to look pretty awful by traditional photographic standards to begin with. (We asked Pentax for sample images shot at this ludicrous ISO but a rep for the company said there are none to share yet.)

But sometimes you just need the shot, image quality be damned. And high ISO rating aside, there appears to be a decent amount of other things to like about this camera — even if it’s probably not enough to help Pentax compete with the Canons andNIKONS of the world.

Are PCs finally cutting into Apple's domination of the high end?

Microsoft claimed last month that “more people are switching from Macs to Surface than ever before,” following what the company described as “the disappointment of the newMACBOOK Pro.” As Microsoft continues to refuse to provide sales or shipment numbers, it’s impossible to fully quantify how well the company’s Surface line is actually doing against Apple’s range of Macs. However, some new sales figures from Apple and statements from Microsoft show that Apple’s usual dominance of the high end may be slipping, despite a long-awaited new MacBook Pro.

Microsoft CFO Amy Hood told Bloomberg last week thatWINDOWS PC makers took share from Apple at the high end of the PC market last quarter. Essentially, the claim is that high-priced Windows machines are beating Apple’s Mac line more often than ever before. Microsoft’s latest earnings included a surprise boost to Windows OEM revenue, up 5 percent year-over-year in a PC market that’s still struggling to stabilize. Surface revenue only dropped by 2 percent, which is surprisingly low given that Microsoft has not refreshed the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book significantly since their introduction in October 2015.

The biggest sign of any change is usually Apple’s own Mac sales figures. The iPhone maker revealed yesterday that it sold nearly 5.4 million Macs in the recent quarter, up only 1 percent from the same period last year. Apple launched its new MacBook Pro in October, but Touch Bar models didn’t start shipping until later in November. Apple’s quarterly numbers only count sales up to December 31st, so shipment delays may have contributed to the small increase in Mac sales.

I say small increase because historically a newMACBOOK Pro has usually helped improve Apple's Mac sales significantly. The late 2013 model boosted overall Mac sales in its debut quarter by 19 percent year-over-year, the mid 2014 variant pushed sales by 21 percent, and even the recent 13- and 15-inch 2015 models both saw increases of around 10 percent in Mac sales in the separate quarters they debuted in. This modest 1 percent boost is unusual for an initial MacBook Pro quarter, especially one that was highly anticipated. Many professionals had been waiting years for a new MacBook Pro, but it has been poorly received by some due to the high price, a lack of ports, and battery life concerns.

Despite Mac sales barely growing this quarter, Apple still set all-time revenue records for the Mac. The average selling price of a Mac has soared to $1,348, up from $1,270 in the same quarter last year. That jump shows that the new MacBook Pro has had an effect, but it's likely because Apple raised the price of itsLAPTOPS, especially internationally.

Microsoft and itsTOP PC partners could be benefiting from Apple’s MacBook Pro launch. PC sales have now declined for 5 years in a row, with IDC putting year-over-year losses at 1.5 percent, and Gartner claiming shipments have dropped by 3.7 percent. Despite this, it's Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Apple that are all grabbing market share from smaller PC makers that are struggling. All of those top PC makers compete with Apple at the high end, and they're all still managing to sell more machines overall.

If Microsoft's claims are accurate, then it's an unusual position for the PC industry. The quality of hardware and even theWINDOWS 10 software have greatly improved over the past year. While many would have previously recommended aMACBOOK Air, the alternatives are now usually far better, even if there's no single perfect laptop anymore. That underlines Microsoft's work with the Surface and its PC makers, but it's also the result of Apple's mixed approach to non-smartphone computing.

Apple really wants you to believe the iPad Pro is a full computer, but sales of the iPad (down 19 percent year-over-year) don’t back that claim up yet. With the debut of the MacBook Pro, and a lack of other Mac hardware, many fans have assumed Apple isn’t committed to MacOShardware anymore. If Apple really doesn't have any big plans for the Mac this year, then it's easy to see how PCs could cut into the company's domination of the high end. The current quarter will give us a better understanding of Mac sales and the MacBook Pro, and I can't imagine Apple will let PCs take over the high end without a fight. That means betterLAPTOPS and PCs for all of us, and that's something to look forward to in 2017.

More than 1,000 Comcast employees nationwide are protesting Trump’s immigration ban

An estimated 1,200 Comcast employees left their desks for a rally on Thursday afternoon, marching through downtown Philadelphia in protest of Donald Trump’s executive order banning immigration from seven majority-Muslim countries. “Love, not hate, is what makes this country great,” chanted the protesters, who began marching through Center City around 2PM ET. It was the second major corporate protest of the week, following a company-endorsed walkout at Google on Tuesday.

Employees organized the rally in a corporateSLACK channel, sources told Philly news siteBilly Penn. The rally appeared to be taking place in Comcast offices in Portland and Washington, DC, as well as Philadelphia and its West Chester suburb. The Philadelphia rally included a march from Comcast’s offices to City Hall a few blocks away. Protesters returned to their desks about 45 minutes later.

The rally was not officially endorsed by Comcast, but the company allowed protesters to march without asking them to record the time away from their desks as time off. “We understand that some of our employees are concerned and we respect their desire to express their opinions,” the company said in a statement. “Our primary focus is to make sure that all of our employees feel safe in their jobs, including while traveling. We have assured our employees that no one will be asked to travel to a place that would result in them feeling vulnerable in any way. And, we have enhanced our employee resources programs to help any concerned employee navigate through this matter.”
